The appointment follows a funding commitment of CHF 120 million from the Wyss Foundation to further strengthen the Center’s mission to accelerate innovative therapies to the clinic to transform the lives of people with brain disorders.

The STAR team is pursuing new strategies, focused on astrocytes, to identify biomarkers and new therapeutic targets to treat neurological and psychiatric disorders.

The Wyss Center’s Chief Development Officer (CDO), Dr Tracy Laabs, has been awarded Pharmacology and Toxicology Alumna of the Year by the University of Wisconsin–Madison, in recognition of her career accomplishments and global impact on research and translation.
