Jérôme Gandar's work has helped the translation of technology through rodent models towards human clinical trials.
Jérôme Gandar joined the Wyss Center in December 2020 as project manager for preclinical studies. He leads the development and implementation of preclinical protocols for start-ups that work in collaboration with the Wyss Center to bring new medical devices into the clinical phase.
Jérôme graduated from EPFL in bioengineering oriented towards neuro-prosthetic technologies and medical devices. He continued his scientific endeavor with a PhD in neuroscience also at EPFL aimed at restoring locomotion in people paralyzed after a spinal cord injury. He designed new implants and electrical stimulation protocols to improve the locomotion pattern and enhance rehabilitation.
