Jinhyung Kim, PhD

Jinhyung holds PhD in Neuroscience from Yonsei University College of Medicine (South Korea). He is interested in deep brain stimulation (DBS), motor cortex stimulation (MCS), neuropathic pain and magnetoencephalography (MEG).

He gained clinical and pre-clinical experiences from the department of neurosurgery, Yonsei University Severance hospital and mainly worked for finding ways to treat neurodegenerative diseases such as neuropathic pain, Parkinson’s disease and dementia using DBS or MCS. He also joined a project for developing a closed-loop DBS system with engineering team of Seoul National University (South Korea).

He is currently working at Korea Electronics Technology Institute in South Korea, working on developing soft robots based on brain-machine interface in collaboration with the Wyss Center.
