Gary has 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering and has worked in medical device, pharmaceutical and aerospace industries, gaining a broad range of experience and applying his skills to a variety of products.
Gary Evans joined the Wyss Center as R&D Mechanical Engineer in May 2022. His role is to design and develop miniaturized, biocompatible hardware solutions and drive all phases of medical device development for next-generation implantable and wearable devices.
Prior to joining the Wyss Center, Gary spent over seven years working for EMS Electro Medical Systems SA (Nyon, Switzerland), designing best in class medical devices. During his time there he was instrumental in the development of a new combined energy lithotripter for stone management in Urology, as well as developing next generation devices for pain therapy.
Gary received a BA(Hons) in Product Design from Bournemouth University in 2002, where he learned a holistic approach to design and a design thinking approach to problem solving.
