Lora Fanda, MSc

Collaborator, UNIGE
Lora Fanda

Lora Fanda is a second-year Ph.D. candidate at the University of Geneva embarking on epilepsy seizure predictability and researching language and its representation in the brain from an engineering and data scientists perspective.

Her scientific path starts with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), focusing on medical devices and systems engineering. In the meantime, she worked as a Verification Engineer at Philips Healthcare (2017). In turn, she joined as a Data Scientist at the NYU Langone Medical Center, working with Epilepsy patients and investigating continuous natural language processing through a project in collaboration with Princeton University and Google (2019).

She holds a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence (AI) from Idiap Research Institute, where she used machine learning techniques to classify and interpret EEG features (2021). Such a path and Lora's current investigation set in motion her perspective goal of merging AI, Neuroscience, and Engineering to benefit patients with epilepsy and other brain diseases.
