From Davos to Geneva: Activating the Brain Economy

A defining moment for the global brain economy

Wyss Geneva, the Geneva University Hospitals, and the State of Geneva recently set in motion the first city-level implementation of the Brain Economy framework, activating the five levers outlined in the World Economic Forum Brain Economy report.

Through the AI Hub, Geneva is now advancing as a city-scale implementation model where brain health, artificial intelligence, policy, and innovation converge to deliver measurable, real-world impact. This marks a shift from concept to execution, demonstrating how advances in brain science and AI can be translated into outcomes for people, health systems, and society.

Leading the brain economy in the intelligent age

Building on this momentum, the Wyss Center co-hosted a roundtable and social event “Leading the Brain Economy in the Intelligent Age” at AI House Davos, in partnership with the Brain House. The gathering brought together leaders from AI, neuroscience, healthcare, investment, and policy to examine how human brain capital — brain health, resilience, creativity, and adaptability — is becoming a strategic asset in the intelligent age.

Discussions centered on moving from measurement to value: leveraging AI and neurotechnology to better understand brain function, strengthening cognitive resilience, and aligning capital and policy to accelerate deployment. Participants explored practical pathways to scale innovation responsibly, across prevention, diagnosis, and care, while balancing rapid technological progress with ethical stewardship.

A city-level model with global relevance

At the heart of this effort is AI Hub Geneva, a collaborative platform designed to activate the brain economy locally and scale it globally. By integrating research, clinical care, data, policy, and investment, Geneva is demonstrating how cities can become engines for brain health innovation, creating durable ecosystems that turn scientific breakthroughs into societal benefit.

The Brain Economy is no longer a future concept. It is being activated now in Geneva, with a clear focus on impact, responsibility, and long-term value for societies.
