Who we are
References to “we”, “our” or “us” in these terms of use mean the Wyss Center for Bio and Neuro Engineering, a non-profit foundation incorporated and existing under the laws of Switzerland, with an office at 9 Chemin des Mines, 1202 Geneva, Switzerland (“Wyss Center”).
General
This website and other websites that are operated and/or controlled by the Wyss Center (collectively “the Wyss Center Sites”) are provided by the Wyss Center subject to these terms of use. All information, communications, drawings, photos, text, and other materials and services found on the Wyss Center Sites (collectively “Materials”), are intended for lawful use.
The Wyss Center reserves the right in its sole discretion to refuse or terminate access to the Wyss Center Sites at any time. Permission to use the Wyss Center Sites terminates automatically if you breach any of these terms of use.
Accessing the Wyss Center Site as a guest
Access to the Wyss Center Sites is permitted on a discretionary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the functionalities we provide on our site without notice. We may also restrict access to some parts of the Wyss Center Sites, or entire Wyss Center Sites, from time to time. We will not be liable if, for any reason, a Wyss Center Site or any of its functionality is unavailable at any time or for any period.
Acceptable use of the Wyss Center Site
You may use the Wyss Center Sites only for lawful purposes. You may not use the Wyss Center Sites:
Restrictions on use of content
The Materials contained in the Wyss Center Sites are protected by copyright laws, international copyright law treaties, and other intellectual property laws and treaties (“IP Rights”). Unless otherwise expressly stipulated or indicated, the Materials may not be reproduced, uploaded, linked to another URL, copied, transmitted, modified, displayed or distributed in any form without Wyss Center’s prior written permission and the unauthorized copying, displaying or other use of any content (by linking, framing, or any other method) from the Wyss Center Sites is a violation of the law. You acknowledge having been advised by the Wyss Center that the Materials are protected by a variety of laws.
Unless otherwise expressly stipulated or indicated, you are hereby granted permission to access the Materials from the Wyss Center Sites in whole or in part, solely for your personal use, to view and browse through the Wyss Center Sites without any right to grant sublicenses to any third party. Neither title nor intellectual property rights are transferred to you, but remain with the Wyss Center, which owns full and complete title to the IP Rights. The Wyss Center does not grant you any permission to use the Materials other than the permission expressly stated in these terms of use or in the applicable licensing terms.
Trademarks
The following trademarks are the property of the Wyss Center (unless otherwise stated). This list is not exhaustive. The absence of a mark from this list does not constitute a waiver of any IP Rights of the Wyss Center or any third party in that mark. The list below does not include any trademark application.
“Wyss Center for Bio and Neuroengineering” and its logo are registered trademarks of the Wyss Center.
“Epios” is a registered trademark of the Wyss Center.
All other brands and names used in the Wyss Center Sites are property of their respective owners.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold the Wyss Center, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, co-branders or other partners, and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third party due to or related to any content you submit, post, transmit or make available through the Wyss Center Sites, your violation of these terms of use, or your violation of any rights of another.
Digital accessibility
We strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability to make our web content more accessible for people with disabilities. The websites are built according to international standards for accessibility.

Viruses, hacking and other offences

Third party rights
No other person or entity shall – without our permission – have any rights to enforce any of these terms of use.
Survivorship

Entire agreement

Jurisdiction and applicable law
These terms of use, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland, without regard to the conflict of law provisions therein.
The courts of Geneva Switzerland will have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising from, or related to, a visit to our sites although we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these terms of use in your country of residence or any other relevant country.
