Vicente Villanueva

Vicente Villanueva joined the Wyss Center in May 2025 as Systems Integration Engineer. In this role, he focuses on hardware integration and complex neuromodulation systems, ensuring seamless communication and functionality across hardware and software components.

Vicente is a seasoned Biomedical Engineer with a strong background in developing complex and innovative systems, including neuromorphic devices, robotics, and medical devices. He has a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and bringing advanced products to market. A key focus of his career has been the development of systems for neuromorphic processors, silicon cochlea and silicon retina, giving birth to diverse state-of-the-art event-based products.

Vicente has extensive experience developing sophisticated devices such as heterogeneous multi-microcontroller and multiplatform robots and drones. His expertise extends to the medical field with contributions in the development of advanced MRI systems and consciousness decoders.
