Richard Köhler

MD/PhD, Dr. med.

Richard Köhler is Coordinator for Clinical AI Translation at the Wyss Center for Bio and Neuroengineering in Geneva. His work focuses on translating AI research and neurotechnology innovations into clinically deployable solutions for neurological and psychiatric disorders, with a particular emphasis on neuromodulation and data-driven therapy optimization.

At the Wyss Center, he leads clinical integration efforts within the AI Hub, coordinating collaborations between clinicians, researchers, and technical teams to enable patient-centered deployment of new therapies. His role spans the development of translational pathways, the design of multimodal data pipelines combining electrophysiology, imaging, and behavioral data, and the implementation of clinical-grade decision-support systems.

Trained in neuroscience and in medicine, his background includes extensive experience in invasive neurophysiology, brain signal decoding, and adaptive deep brain stimulation. His work bridges experimental research and real-world clinical application, with a focus on accelerating the safe and effective adoption of precision neurotechnologies.
