Pablo seeks to apply state-of-the-art methods in machine learning and AI to optimize the application of non-invasive brain stimulation, drawing on the full potential of this technology to translate it into real therapies for patients.
Pablo Maceira Elvira joined the Wyss Center in January 2024 as a Neuroengineer. His current projects involve the individualization and the optimization of non-invasive deep brain stimulation, with a vision of applying this technology remotely to treat diverse neurological conditions.
Pablo studied mechatronics engineering at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM, Leon, Mexico), and obtained a Master’s degree in Biomechatronics at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft, Delft, The Netherlands). He obtained a PhD in Neuroscience from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland), awarded for his research on the modeling of motor learning and its optimization by means of non-invasive brain stimulation.
