Mark Stolz

Head of Research & Development

Mark Stolz joined the Wyss Center as Head of Research & Development in October 2023. In this role, he supports the Wyss Center to further strengthen the Center’s mission to innovate and accelerate therapies to the clinic to transform the lives of people with brain disorders. He leads a team of more than 30 scientists and engineers to further develop and mature innovations from early stage to proof of concept and readiness for clinical trials.

Mark is a seasoned R&D leader in the medical device and technology sectors, with extensive experience across all phases of product development, from early development through commercialization. Throughout his career he has focused on building high-performance collaborative teams, which deliver outstanding innovation to improve patient outcomes.

Prior to joining the Wyss Center, Mark held senior roles with international med-tech companies, leading multidisciplinary global R&D teams. He has a solid track record of advancing novel technologies, and delivering products and solutions for commercialization across a broad range of applications including in-vitro diagnostics, smart drug delivery, surgical microscopy and radiation therapy.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the California State University, Chico, (USA) and completed an accelerated leadership program in Strategic Innovation from the London Business School.
