Etienne de Montalivet joined the Wyss Center in September 2023 as Machine Learning Scientist. His current projects involve decoding brain signals aiming to restore movement through a wearable soft exosuit or to provide a brain-to-speech interface for people with speech disabilities.

Etienne studied embedded systems, robotics and machine learning at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées in France. He worked on various medical projects such as improving upper-limb prosthesis control and epilepsy seizure forecasting.
