Esther Braun
Esther Braun joined the Wyss Center in December 2025 as R&D Engineer, where she works in collaboration with Lunaphore Technologies on the development of a next-generation microfluidic platform for automated high-plex and multiomic 3D spatial biology enabling proteomic and transcriptomic analysis.
Esther studied Bioengineering and Life Sciences at the Technical University of Munich, where she gained expertise in microfluidic assay development. She then pursued a PhD in Biotechnology and Bioengineering at EPFL, working at the interface of microbiology, advanced microscopy and instrument development. During her doctorate, she focused on advancing high-resolution microscopy to enable time-lapse nano-characterization of pathogenic microorganisms in vitro, including investigations into the role of cell cleavage in mycobacterial cell cycle coordination using correlated optical and scanning probe imaging.
