Anna Fomitcheva-Khartchenko
Anna Fomitcheva-Khartchenko joined the Wyss Center in December 2025 as a Research Scientist. Her work focuses on the development of novel 3D multiomic protocols for transcriptomic and proteomic analysis in collaboration with Lunaphore.
Anna earned her PhD at ETH Zurich through a joint project with IBM Research – Europe, where she developed microfluidic technologies for spatial omic applications. During her doctorate, she also developed ways to examine the kinetics of antigen-antibody binding on tissue sections. Subsequently, Anna carried out postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley, where her work centered on understanding how proteoform-level heterogeneity in cancer influences cell fate. In particular, she investigated the impact of distinct HER2 proteoforms on chromatin accessibility and response to drug treatment.
