Sébastien Menot joined the Wyss Center as R&D Mechanical Engineer in July 2023. His role is to design and develop miniaturized, biocompatible hardware solutions for next-generation implantable and wearable devices.
Having worked 25 years both within medical device industry and others, Sebastien gained a broad range of experience in conception, development and testing of various electromechanical devices. He also managed R&D projects for improving quality and conducted reliability testing of complex micromechanics systems (performance qualification, aging, transport simulation, robustness, etc.).
During his career, he has developed sensors for chemical analysis of water, cash dispensing machines, and medical devices (MEMS pump chips for diabetic care, disposable kits for cell & gene therapy), in strong industrial constraints and regulated environments. He managed a verification and validation team in the medical environment as well.
Sebastien studied Microtechnic Engineering at EPFL with a specialization in manufacturing methods and robotics.
