Arushi has joined the Wyss Center as a consultant on the ABILITY project to work on the implant's optical link. She is currently reviewing existing literature for in-vivo optical properties of the human scalp and performing simulations on light transport in tissue to study each patient's light attenuation.
Arushi was working at the University of Bern, Institute of Applied Physics, as a physicist specializing in biomedical photonics.
She worked on a project using polarimetric imaging to delineate the tumourous and healthy brain tissue in real-time. She also researched an alternate surgical methodology for cochlear implants using lasers, increasing precision and recovery time. She finished her Ph.D. in Physics in June 2020 from the University of Bern.
